When a lead fills out your form the entered information is gathered in the campaign dashboard.

Lead properties allow for this information to be saved to the lead's profile in your leads dashboard. You can then use these properties in your automation marketing and as merge tags.

Existing lead properties can be found in your Leads dashboard here

To map your form field to one of these existing lead properties:

First name your field and select 'Map to Existing Lead Property'

Click on the dropdown arrow next to the text, a list of your existing lead properties will appear

Select the lead property that you'd like the field mapped with.

Now when leads enter this field it will be gathered in the lead's profile, with the selected lead property.

In the follow you can see the field was set to the lead property 'Fitnesssource', when a lead entered the form it came through with this property.
